About

The Art of Becoming: Charleigh Tallman

Charleigh Tallman is an artist, performer, and filmmaker based in New York City. Born in El Paso, Texas, a border city where the south of the United States meets the north of Mexico, he was raised between cultures. This duality continues to inform his work, which often explores identity, perception, and the spaces between the real and the constructed.

He graduated in May 2025 from The University of Texas at El Paso with a double Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts and Digital Media Production. His early training in theatre began at thirteen and remains central to his practice, shaping how he approaches movement, presence, and emotional articulation across mediums. Whether on stage, on camera, or within conceptual visual work, performance is the foundation through which his ideas take form.

Charleigh’s work blends performance, film, and digital storytelling, with a particular interest in high-concept narratives and experimental formats. He has acted in both English- and Spanish-language productions, including the bilingual period piece Los empeños de una casa and the stage play Dog Sees God. His screen work includes Hidden Flora (2024), as well as three self-produced short films, Trifecta, Superfecta, and Exacta, in which he served as creator, performer, and producer.

Drawn to projects that merge visual language with psychological and philosophical inquiry, Charleigh is especially interested in how technology, identity, and spectatorship intersect. His current work continues to push toward immersive, boundary-blurring experiences that invite the audience into an active relationship with the narrative.

Based in New York City, he continues to develop work across film, performance, and digital media.
